If, like me, you charge up your vehicle in public places, I am sure you will be familiar with what I am about to describe. I do my public charging at motorway service areas here in the UK. These are always busy. The car park is always nearly full, and there is a constant stream of people moving towards and away from the main doors, which lead to and from the restaurants, shops, and other public facilities.
A New Go Ultra Low cost calculator finds that the typical 100% electric car in the UK could cost on average just 3p per mile to run. That is a notable bit of savings compared to 9p for the comparable diesel car. The first savings, in my experience, regard the smell, the lack of particulate exposure, and freedom from the filmy dirty feeling of gas in the car and in the air.

VW reports that in its latest guise, the zero-emission e-Golf has new battery technology. Gas2 earlier reported that the 2017 Volkswagen e-Golf goes 50% further on a single battery charge. The new e-Golf also has a host of connectivity features both in the car and in the customer’s hand via the ubiquitous smartphone — everything from warming or cooling the EV remotely to interesting security features. The price also makes the electrified VW a valuable find.

A press release reports that the overall used market for electric vehicles has increased 7% this year in the UK.
I’ve met quite a few EV drivers in the past year and a half. Invariably, the EV drivers always reflect my contentment, satisfaction, and wonderment with EVs.
