Now that you can officially order a Volkswagen ID.3, the car is starting to feel a lot more real. Also, though, some people have been surprised by current pricing and many have been scratching their heads simply trying to find the pricing and the range of various trims.
This drag race is different from the previous ones where Teslas competed against other EVs or shamed gas guzzlers for their sluggish performance. This time it is the entire production lineup* of Tesla cars contesting to show off their electric muscle.

The latest Tesla software update (2019.36.1) has unlocked the full DC charging potential of the Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus (SR+). The Model 3 SR+, with this update, has a 170 kW charging peak, up from the previous 100–105 kW peak. This means that the SR+ battery charge rate (C-rate) is now approximately in line with that of the Model 3 Long Range variants, albeit scaled for the different battery size.

Since I got the Tesla Model 3 a month and a half ago, I’ve been trying to figure out a one- or two-sentence summary of the car. It’s been tough. I’m plagued by a few issues. For one, I’m used to communicating with people who know a ton about Tesla (you), whereas people in the “real world” are often not such people.
