SolarEdge was a late entrant to the world of electric vehicle chargers, but after spending some time with the SolarEdge Smart EV Charger, the company is already a serious contender in the space.
SolarEdge continues to expand its product line into the new energy home of today with the introduction of a new Smart EV Chargers for North America. Instead of having to be installed near the inverter, the new charger gives owners options when it comes time to install the charger while at the same time, boosting the maximum charging speed to an impressive 9.6kW (40 amps, 240 volts).
CleanTechnica sat down with SolarEdge co-founder and VP of marketing and product strategy, Lior Handelsman, at SPI 2019 for a nice long chat about the company’s new Smart Home tech. Along the way, Lior mentioned that SolarEdge is also developing intelligent, connected EV charging tech that will allow multiple charging stations on a single circuit to load balance between themselves without exceeding the capacity of the circuit.
SolarEdge was one of the early leaders in the solar inverter space and is now leveraging its mastery of the inverter to build out a comprehensive new plan for the smart home of the future.
