Tesla Smart Summon Bonanza — 7 Races

Tesla Smart Summon was all the rage for a few days on Tesla Twitter and Tesla YouTube. For obvious reason, too — it’s fun! More thoughtfully (putting on my serious face), it’s an amazing step forward toward door-to-door fully self-driving Teslas. That’s at least half the excitement — what it indicates is coming, much more than what is here today. Nonetheless, tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of Tesla owners were eager to see what Smart Summon could do and what its limitations were. That included me, a new Tesla buddy, and a friend of his who happened to be in town at the Supercharger where we had decided to meet.

There are a handful of hilarious and informative pro-Tesla Twitter accounts. Elon Musk’s may be the most famous (either his or Earl’s), and he’s got a pretty good handle on humor (dad humor), but another tweeter who makes me laugh on a routine basis and who I think more people should follow is The Short Shorts Historian (@TeslaHistorian). This history professor is quite adept at picking LOL-funny tweets from yesteryear and bringing them to the harsh neon lights of modern-day Twitter.

It’s October, which means that for most people that fall is in full swing. Leaves crunch underfoot as the scents of apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg mingle to warm our senses as the temperatures dip. I did say for most people. Those of us in the South are still experiencing higher than average temperatures, so we can only sip our pumpkin spice lattes and apple ciders wrapped up in thick blankets if we have the air conditioner on full blast.
