In an attempt to break a Guinness World Record, Tesla owners around the world recently pitched in to raise funds for Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.), which is a nonprofit organization that rescues children who are being human trafficked.
On Saturday, Tesla owners converged on Atlanta to make a powerful statement and support the local Atlanta Tesla community in setting a world record while fighting human trafficking. A portion of the GA 400, one of North Atlanta’s main highways, was closed down to allow for the Tesla Parade — a fleet of 340 Tesla vehicles — participating in the setting of a Guinness World Record.
On Saturday, 340 Teslas were in a Tesla parade to fight human trafficking. One of those Teslas was a Model S — a very special Model S that was bought with money from confiscated drugs. The Brookhaven Police Department bought it used and remade it into a police car.
A new Tesla record was set yesterday, and it helped children in need along the way. Although it is not official yet, the 340 Tesla vehicles that went on parade were the most in history — including a Roadster, a Model Y sponsored by Tesla, and many, many happy Tesla owners from all over the East Coast.
This weekend in Atlanta, Tesla owners will be shutting down a large portion of the GA 400 highway — with permission, of course. In this two-part event, the first part will be a Guinness World Record attempt for the Longest Tesla Parade which is a title currently held by Tesla owners in China.
