Hyundai Kona EV Wins 2019 CleanTechnica Car of the Year Award

In our 2019 competition for the CleanTechnica Car of the Year, CleanTechnica staff lounging next to a rooftop pool on top of a luxury hotel (… or just sitting on our computers from the banal surroundings of our own homes …) came up with a list of the 5 new vehicles most likely to have a positive effect on society.

We then put that list of vehicles out in front of your eyeballs to choose a winner, via a simple one-question survey.

Two weeks ago, we published our 2019 CleanTechnica Car of the Year finalists. In case you missed that announcement or just felt too lazy to take 10 seconds to vote, we wanted to give you a proper second chance. So, I’m republishing a portion of that article intro, the finalists again, and how to vote. After this, the polls will be closed and we’ll be announcing the winner.

2017 CleanTechnica Car of the Year Award — and the winner is…

2017 is shaping up to be the year that the affordable EV goes big, with the much anticipated Chevy Bolt and the updated Renault Zoe (with its breakthrough 400 km range) rolling out en masse, as well as the competitive and perhaps widely available Hyundai IONIQ, Toyota Prius Prime, and Chrysler Pacific Hybrid (PHEV). And that’s not even mentioning what is due in the second half of 2017 (hint: Tesla Model 3).
