Hyundai IONIQ Wins Women’s World Car Of The Year “Supreme Award”

I've been intrigued by the Hyundai IONIQ from the first time I heard about it. First of all, there's a style and range in this electric car that must appeal to a large number of people. There are also three compelling powertrains depending on your needs — three electrified powertrains (my favorite being the IONIQ Electric). All three versions — the Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid, and Electric — were treated as one car for voting purposes, dynamically increasing the EVs appeal in the 8th edition of the Women’s World Car of the Year awards. And that triplet of an electrified leader took the "Supreme Award."

2017 World Urban Car = BMW i3 (94 Ah)

As the inaugural winner of the 2017 World Urban Car award at the New York International Auto Show, the new BMW i3 (94 Ah) is getting a well deserved nod of attention. The i3 is a blast to drive, subcompact (allowing for much easier urban parking and maneuvering), elegant, clean, and widely available. In a world of growing city fees or bans for dirty vehicles, it's apropos that an electric vehicle win the inaugural World Urban Car award

Cleantech Open Sees Best of Midwest Cleantech Startups

The Cleantech Open bills itself as the largest cleantech accelerator. It's mission to "find, fund and foster entrepreneurs with big ideas that address today’s most urgent energy, environmental and economic challenges." Its North Central regional program, founded in 2010, will be holding its 2012 Innovation Expo & Awards event in Minneapolis on Thursday, October 18.
