Europe Installs 4.9 Gigawatts Of New Wind In 1st Half Of 2019

Europe installed a total of 4.9 gigawatts (GW) of new wind energy capacity across the first half of 2019, according to new figures published last week by the region's wind energy trade body, WindEurope, including a total of 1,927 megawatts (MW) of offshore wind energy.

Siemens Gamesa Named Preferred Supplier For Japanese Offshore Wind Farm

Spanish offshore wind giant Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy announced last month that it had received its first preferred supplier nomination for the Japanese offshore wind industry, being nominated as preferred supplier for the Northern Akita offshore pipeline in Japan which has a capacity of up to 455 megawatts (MW).
