Green Business Certification Inc. Introduces TRUE Zero Waste Rating System

The TRUE Zero Waste rating system is a compliment to the LEED green building rating system, and helps businesses and facilities define, pursue and achieve their zero waste goals. TRUE focuses on helping businesses, industrial sectors and schools quantify their performance and find additional ways to move toward zero waste. There are currently 88 certified facilities including Tesla, Microsoft, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. and more.

Maryland Governor Unveils Strongest US Plan To Fight Climate Change

If Governor Martin O’Malley gets his way, Maryland may soon lead America in the fight against climate change and transition toward a clean energy future. Today, O’Malley announced an aggressive plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions 25% and boost renewable energy 25% by 2020 - both up from current 20% targets.

Hope for Chinese Recycling Facilities

Fuji Xerox (a partnership between Japanese Fuji Photo and American Xerox) announced that its integrated recycling system located in Suzhou, China has managed a 99.8% recycling rate in fiscal year 2010, qualifying it as a so-called "zero waste" facility
