If we're going to scale up electric vehicle production, we need an abundance of lithium. Mining or production capacity is quite limited at this point, and it looks like the oil industry might be the best source of this valuable mineral going forward towards a more renewable future

Investors Warn Asian Factory Farms Risk “Financial Food Poisoning”‘ of Global Food Supply Chain

August 16th, 2017 | by Andrea Bertoli

Industrial animal agriculture is a hugely devastating industry for humans, for animals, and for the planet. Growing feedstock for animals means acres of rainforest are cleared for soybeans; methane emissions from CAFOs (concentrated animal feeding operations) are one of the leading causes of climate change; the resulting manure pollutes local waterways and air; and the crowded conditions of CAFOs lead to high rates of sickness and infection, leading to excessive use of antibiotics — which makes these vital medicines less effective for humans (in fact, farm animals receive approximately 80% of the antibiotics sold in the US)

Helsinki Bikeshare Program Triples After Successful Launch

June 9th, 2017 | by Andrea Bertoli

Bikeshare programs are a great solution to urban density. Bikeshare programs, which are increasing in both number of locations and expansion of individual programs, allow commuters to get around dense urban areas by renting a bike from one station and returning at another. These innovative programs are great for drivers, who see less traffic on city streets, and great for workers, who can take a quick bike ride to the post office, to lunch, or to a meeting without having to take a cab or their own car. They are affordable and safe alternative to downtown commuting

Groups Challenge Certification For Mountain Valley Pipeline

June 9th, 2017 | by Andrea Bertoli
