Yesterday, I woke up to the news that 11 voting locations in New Orleans may not have power on Election Day. This was due to Hurricane Zeta hitting our state and Mayor Cantrell of New Orleans calling out our Secretary of State, Kyle Adrion, for failing to provide backup power to these 11 polling sites after Hurricane Zeta knocked out power.

Today the Danish Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate has launched its energy initiative called “Energy — for a green Denmark” which is meant to support the goal of at least 50% of the country’s energy consumption to be supplied by renewable energy sources by 2030.
Whenever the issue of tax on passenger cars in Denmark comes up, those who believe in the numbers think it’s pure madness, while others simply don’t believe it. Well, now a bunch of number crunching wizards have found that most of this madness is indeed superfluous.
As the expiry of the previous support scheme for renewable energy in Denmark resulted in a significant expansion with land based wind energy in 2017, we hold our breath to see how the annual technology neutral wind and solar tenders for 2018 and 2019 will pan out in the country. While we wait we can look to Germany and see what happened there at its first attempt.

The solar market as a whole has continued to grow, and small-scale systems are proving to be better deals for communities than larger ones. So, compared with previous rankings of solar capacity, do states that allow third-party leases and power purchase agreements still dominate?
