A Tesla employee based at Tesla Gigafactory 1 in Nevada has indicated that the pilot production line for the Tesla Semi is under development and things seem to be going well. This person tweeted last week, “New nugget: pilot line for Semi coming together….”

I recently met a gentleman named David Havasi while charging our Tesla Model 3 at a ChargePoint station at a Whole Foods I frequently visit. He recognized me from CleanTechnica and I quickly learned he worked at Tesla for 7 years, until just recently. We got talking, talking, talking, and talking. I wasn’t sure if he’d be camera shy to repeat some of what he told me (or more) on camera, but it turned out he very much wasn’t shy — he had actually worked on Broadway before working at Tesla!
The Tesla Semi red prototype was recently seen at a facility for a large warehousing and logistics client from California named “Yandell,” a huge facility at 360 Industrial Court in Benicia.
An internal email to employees dated July 9 from Jerome Guillen, President of Automotive at Tesla, said the company is “making preparations” to raise output at its factory in Fremont, California (where we recently interviewed him). “While we can’t be too specific in this email, I know you will be delighted with the upcoming developments,” Guillen said, according to a report by Bloomberg, which claims to have seen a copy of the email.
