Well, the #1 story on the top 20 is also perhaps my favorite, but I wrote it, so I’m biased. It is a cost comparison between the Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus and several Honda Accord trims. Guess who wins.
If you were following Tesla in the early days of the Model S, and more so if you were an early Model S owner, you probably know or know of Jerome Guillen. He led development of the Tesla Model S (program director) and was also VP of Worldwide Sales and Service for 2½ years. He was absolutely loved by owners. If you frequented Tesla forums in the pre–Model X days, you might have even seen more love for Jerome than for Elon (Musk). People loved him.

Construction progress continues at breakneck speed at Tesla Gigafactory Shanghai (aka Tesla Gigafactory 3), with the latest video update from Wuwa Vision (烏瓦) showing roofs starting to go up on several of the site’s structures.

Tesla is refocusing on service as its top priority now that it has stabilized production and delivery for Model 3, CEO Elon Musk said yesterday on the company’s Q4 2018 earnings call. Elon said on the call, “One of our major priorities for this quarter is improving service operations,” with a specific focus on North America, which is home to the majority of Tesla’s vehicles.

This perspective comes from someone who has been a clutch player on the Tesla team for the last 8 years.
Tesla President of Automotive Jerome Guillen recently opened up about Tesla’s plans for expanding and optimizing Gigafactory 1 in Sparks, Nevada. As usual, Tesla is keeping a watchful eye on the future with the construction of its new Shanghai Gigafactory, but Gigafactory 1 isn’t yet close to reaching its own max potential.
Both Tesla fanboys and TSLA shorts seem to agree on one thing — Elon Musk could use some rest. He, however, disagrees. Nevertheless, many were relieved when Musk recently announced that “Jerome Guillen has been promoted to President, Automotive … [in order to] oversee all automotive operations and program management, as well as coordinate our extensive automotive supply chain.”
While the Tesla Model 3 is interesting, the company’s semi-truck development program grabs my attention much more so … which brings us back to Musk’s tweet.
