Electric Road Trips

Electrify America’s Reliable Fast Charging, & The Need For Autopilot — 2 Day, 4 State…

The travel log of my trip from the Appalachians to Florida was quite different from my 3 day trip up. I again drove a 2015 BMW i3 REX with 71 miles of electric range. On the 3 day trip up to the Appalachians, I avoided using gas at all, going out of my way to find and use Level 2 chargers between the fast chargers. That is, until the last half hour to the mountain cabin.

2015 BMW i3 REx Goes Long Distance To Find The Heart Of America — Florida…

To begin, I want to thank my personal patron saint of long-distance small-EV travel, Zachary Shahan. He plotted my trip for me from charger to charger since my MacBook Air took a hiatus and blacked out on me the morning I left the Sunshine State for the Appalachians in a small 2015 BMW i3 REx. My travel log lost, Zach kept me abreast of each charging location on my phone, and updated them as the trip went along and plans changed. I also found some extra stations with the navigation on the dash of the i3.

Nissan e-NV200 Electric Van Saves ICE Motorbikes On European Road Trip

Where did we leave off? Yes, it was that memorable night walk in the streets of Venice with Uncle Google. The plan was simple – charge up where you can and wander around sightseeing the north of Italy while heading towards Rome. Things never seem to go as planned, so right after we left — somewhere near Ravenna — one of the motorbikes in our team broke. It simply refused to go any further.

Tesla Model 3 Standard Range vs. Best of the Rest – Which Affordable EV to…

In the coming months, with some timing and volume variations by region, you will be able to choose from many affordable, generous range, compelling, and all-around-capable EVs that are coming on to the market. Whilst the Tesla Model 3 Standard Range is arguably the most keenly anticipated of the bunch, all of these EVs are great cars, much better than any fossil fuel vehicle (FFV) equivalent.

Electric Road Trip: Jaquar I-PACE Tested In Los Angeles Ahead Of 2018 Reveal

A longtime friend of mine with rooftop solar panels took a test drive of my humble 2015 Nissan LEAF the other day. He and his wife drive a nice SUV hybrid and once owned a Jaguar. After some nice comments about the LEAF, he and his wife decided that absolutely his next vehicle will be all electric. I encouraged him to test drive some Tesla options (explaining the value, quality, autonomous safety, minimalistic style, and top-of-the-line technology.) As his hybrid is in very good shape, he did not seem in a hurry. He responded that by the time he made the switch to all-electric, there will be many choices as good as a Tesla and his interest may lie elsewhere. Perhaps this vehicle below might interest him, being a one-time Jaguar owner.
