Earlier this month California utilities launched the California Clean Fuel Rewards Program, a statewide point-of-sale electric vehicle rebate program worth up to $1,500 per vehicle (depending upon battery size). This program is funded by credits from California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS), which are quickly becoming a major source of support for transportation electrification.
California drivers can save up to $1,500 off the price of a new electric vehicle, on top of previously available incentives!
California has announced that it is investing $95 million into clean transportation with several goals in mind, including helping those living in disadvantaged communities get access to clean transportation.
The California Clean Vehicle Rebate Project provides a rebate of up to $7,000 when a California resident who is eligible for the program buys or leases a new all-electric, plug-in hybrid, or fuel-cell electric vehicle.
The Governor of California, Jerry Brown, just this last week signed a number of important new electric vehicle and clean transportation bills into law — AB 544, AB 1082 and 1083, and AB 1452, to be exact.
California Assemblyman Phil Ting of San Francisco has introduced legislation that would add $3 billion to the state’s zero-emissions incentive program over the next 12 years. “We’ve been able to dispel the notion that you can’t clean the environment and grow the economy,” Ting says. “The next wave is electric vehicles.”
