The Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, lovingly known as MARTA for those of us who live or have lived (in my case) in the Metro Atlanta area, has made a purchase and a statement in favor of clean energy. MARTA ordered six Xcelsior CHARGE™ zero-emission, battery-electric 40-foot, heavy-duty transit buses from New Flyer.

A portion of the GA 400, one of North Atlanta’s main highways, was closed down to allow for the Tesla Parade — a fleet of 340 Tesla vehicles — participating in the setting of a Guinness World Record.
This weekend in Atlanta, Tesla owners will be shutting down a large portion of the GA 400 highway — with permission, of course. In this two-part event, the first part will be a Guinness World Record attempt for the Longest Tesla Parade which is a title currently held by Tesla owners in China.
