On Thursday night, November 16, Tesla and Elon Musk revealed a prototype of their semi truck. While the Tesla Semi is at least a few years away from production, most industry observers were impressed with the announced performance specifications of the truck.
But then entered truck driver Matthew Garnett, who was interviewed Friday, November 17, on Fox Business by reporter Elizabeth MacDonald. Mr. Garnett, a frequent guest on Fox News and a contributor to The Federalist blog, is quite outspoken on his views, especially about the role of the US government.
A future of vehicles powered by batteries will radically change how, where, and how often we “refuel” our cars and trucks. One of those shifts will be to charging electric vehicles at warehouse stores (also referred to as big-box stores, superstores, and hypermarkets) and supermarkets.

One of the top presentations at EVBox’s first annual rEVolution conference earlier this year came from Sture Portvik, project leader for electrical vehicles and charging infrastructure in the City of Oslo’s Agency for Urban Environment. He was also presenting in Paris recently for Autonomy, where I was again present to moderate some panel discussions.
Chevy plans to put three more cars based on the Chevy Bolt platform on the road by 2021, and then introduce a new modular electric platform supporting at least 20 new vehicles by 2023. If they stick to these plans, a reasonable question is how long it will take before they have more fully electric cars on the roads of the world than Tesla, if ever.
