Europe Electric Car Sales Up 37% In June — #CleanTechnica Report

The European passenger plug-in market continues pushing forward. In June, the continent registered some 38,000 plug-in electric vehicles (PEV), up 37% relative to the same period last year and the continent's second best performance ever. That showing pulled the year-to-date (YTD) count to some 185,000 deliveries (+43% year over year, or YoY). In total, the 2018 PEV market share of the overall car market there is up to 2.2% (2.4% in June)


China Electric Car Sales Up 77% In June — #CleanTechnica Report

The Chinese plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) market lifted off the accelerator, with some 78,000 units registered in June, up only 77%. This slowdown from the three-digit growth rates of previous months is explained by the fact that, in June, "new energy" subsidies were slashed to vehicles with ranges lower to 150 km. That means most small "city EVs" stopped being sold, draining a significant percentage of sales

The German plug-in electric car (PEV) market grew 23% in June, to 5,709 registrations, with plug-in hybrids (+25%) and fully electric cars (+21%) growing at a similar pace. In 2018, all-electrics are reaching 1% share, while plug-in hybrids have also grown their share to 1%, resulting in a total PEV share of 2%

The European passenger plug-in market continues pushing forward, registering some 29,000 registrations in May. That's up 38% compared to the same period last year and pulls the year-to-date (YTD) count to over 146,000 deliveries (+44%), keeping the 2018 market share at 2.1% (2.0% in May). Fully electric cars (BEVs) and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) grew at the same pace (+38%) in May, with plug-in hybrids now having an advantage of 6,000 units. The German plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) passenger car market cooled off somewhat in May, growing just 24% year over year (YoY) to 4,711 registrations. Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) slowed down significantly (+6%), while fully electric cars (BEVs) continued growing at a healthy pace (+52%). In 2018, with all-electrics reaching 1% share and plug-in hybrids are dropping their share to 0.9%, the total PEV share of the German car market is 1.9%

Nissan LEAF Amazes In EV Sales Record Storm (Europe Electric Car Sales Report)

The European passenger plug-in car market hit unprecedented levels last month, beating a two-year old record (34,000 units in December 2015) by scoring over 40,000 registrations. That's 41% growth compared to the same period last year, and pulls the year-to-date count to 87,000 deliveries (37% growth). It allowed the 2018 market share to date to reach 2% (2.2% in March)

The Netherlands had 1,834 registrations in March, up 123% compared to March 2017. Last month actually resulted in a 4.3% plug-in vehicle share of the auto market, thus helping the 2018 share climb to 3.3%. The Tesla Model S was once again the monthly best seller, thanks to 588 registrations, allowing it to beat its own record of 576 deliveries, which dated back from December


New Nissan LEAF Lands With A Bang In Europe (Europe Electric Car Sales Report)

The European passenger plug-in market scored over 22,000 registrations in February 2018, growing 39% compared to the same period last year (YoY) and pulling the year-to-date count to almost 47,000, a 35% increase over the same period in 2017. The plug-in vehicle market now holds a 1.9% market share in Europe. Unfortunately, plug-in hybrids (+54% YoY) continue to outrun fully electric vehicles (+26%), thus increasing by two percentage points their lead over fully electric cars (55% vs 45%)
