The Arcimoto team, based out of Eugene, Oregon, did a great job with its electric three-wheeler, the SRK. I think an electric three-wheel platform, otherwise known as RT3, is one of the most ideal solutions to urban mobility, allowing for fast and convenient hops throughout the city. And the Arcimoto SRK certainly looks like it would be fun to own, whether I lived in a city, the countryside, or the desert. I briefly test drove an early version of the SRK at the Los Angeles Auto Show and was immediately impressed.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has said on multiple occasions in the past year that the target was to start production of the Tesla Model 3 in July. When he first said this (on one of Tesla’s quarterly conference calls), he was very hesitant to say it because he indicated it was a strict target for suppliers specifically because they knew not all suppliers would end up meeting the target. To try to really meet the target (or not go far beyond it), Tesla had penalties in place for suppliers who missed the deadline. Furthermore, as a backup, Tesla said it was preparing production capacity for any critical parts of the car itself in case its suppliers fell through.
The European passenger plug-in market had more than 21,000 registrations last month, up 48% over the same month last year. Year-t0-date, the market is up 27% this year, with the EV share standing at 1.4%.

My second “real,” long drive on Autopilot (from Wroclaw to Berlin) demonstrated to me two places in which Autopilot is brilliantly lovable. These, imho, are the situations in which Autopilot is like collecting mushrooms in Mario Bros.
A new “hypermiling” record for production electric vehicles has been set by a pair from Belgium, using a Tesla Model S 100D. The duo in question, Steven Peeters and Joeri Cools, managed to squeeze 560 miles (901 kilometers) out of the Tesla Model S 100D in question, by traveling at an average of 24 miles per hour (39 km/h) for right around 24 hours. Before we go further about the short-term news, there’s a very important lesson to be learned and shared (again) regarding this record and how it relates to the practicality of EV life today.
The UK’s progress towards achieving its climate change goals has been stalling, according to a new report from the UK’s Committee on Climate Change advisers. The report argues that new policy initiatives and strategies are needed if the UK is to meet its ambitious greenhouse gas emissions reductions goals.
According to recent rumors, Tesla may launch its own streaming music service, so that the company isn’t reliant upon third-party services — such as Pandora, Spotify, and Apple Music.
The London Taxi Company’s all-electric taxi has been tested intensely and over thousands of miles in both hot and cold climate endurance tests in the Arizona desert and Arctic Circle. This week, the zero emissions taxi prototype took on another first. On Thursday, June 29, one of London Taxi Company (LTC)’s all-new range-extended electric taxi test vehicles silently made the world-famous Goodwood Hillclimb.
Aston Martin has decided to scale back its RapidE electric vehicle production plans as a result of its investment partner, LeEco, pulling out of the project. That’s according to recent comments made by Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer.
