U.S. Armed Forces Creating Clean Energy Innovations

The Department of Defense has made headlines for using biofuels to power its’ planes and ships, but clean energy innovations may have a bigger impact by reducing the carbon bootprint of military while saving lives on the battlefield. New technologies are reducing the weight of equipment soldiers carry into battle, powering military bases, and creating a fleet of electric vehicles.

First Ever Joint Army-Air Force Energy Forum Confirms Fossil Fuels Are Fading Out

The first ever joint Army-Air Force Energy Forum took place this week, and the participants have a message for outdated conventional fuels: don’t let the door hit you on your way out. At the capacity-booked event, senior leadership, including four- and three-star generals, outlined “the strategic importance and future direction of Army and Air Force energy” in terms of innovation, technology, conservation and sustainability.

GM Sells Security

GM is in the business of selling vehicles. They also usually make them. Anticipating objections was the object of GM’s recent announcement of a “definitive agreement” with ABB, a back up power and energy storage company. For most an “Electric vehicle” means a battery car. Some question if electric vehicles are truly “clean.” GM wants us to imagine with confidence where batteries go when they “naturally die.”
