I have now crossed the 30,000 miles (49,000 km) milestone in my 2019 Tesla Model 3, in just over 16 months, and in October I reached one full year on a set of Michelin CrossClimate+ tires, which will give some precise range data, so this is a perfect time for an update.
Wednesday, May, 20, has seen the first Shanghai-made Tesla Model 3 Long Range vehicles delivered to customers, just 6 weeks after the vehicle’s order page was opened up in early April.
As we reported yesterday, Tesla was expected to add the locally made Model 3 Long Range (rear wheel drive edition) to its lineup soon to reduce pricing on that option. Tesla surprised us by releasing a locally made Model 3 Performance also!

It was the 12th of April. I had waited exactly 3 years and 12 days. That morning, like many before it, I checked the Danish locale of the Tesla Model 3 configurator and there it was: the Standard Range Plus ready to order.
Some things cannot be explained by numbers. The Tesla Model 3 driving experience is phenomenally better than the driving experience of nearly every other car on the market. That is not hyperbole. Race car drivers have said it, top auto journalists have said it, and hundreds of thousands of other people have said it. You just have to experience the Model 3 to understand it.
