Tesla is in talks with battery producer CATL to supply lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) cells for the Shanghai-made Tesla Model 3, according to a report by Reuters.
Tesla’s Gigafactory 3 was built in a hurry because both China and Tesla had a lot to prove to the world, and if anyone was betting against Elon, they lost and joined a very long list of people who doubted Musk and were proven wrong.

24M, headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, says it has shipped its first lithium-ion semi-solid state batteries to a commercial customer. The new cells use a silicon anode and provide 250 watt-hours of energy storage per kilogram and cost less than conventional battery cells.
