Peugeot CEO Carlos Tavares Is An EV Noob

March 22nd, 2020 | by Maarten Vinkhuyzen

After the cancellation of the Geneva International Motor Show, as compensation for the missed opportunity to interact with the press, Carlos Tavares, CEO of Peugeot, held a conference call with a number of journalists. There were some discussions about the future electrification of the automotive industry. His comments on the subject were shocking for the ignorance they revealed

The European Car Of The Year Election Was An Embarrassment

March 21st, 2020 | by Maarten Vinkhuyzen

The European Car of the Year is not the “Best Buy” advice of a consumer organization. It does not put a sticker on Product X in category Y in price class Z. It does not help customers to choose between the myriad offerings on the market by positioning something as the cheapest, coolest, easiest, safest, healthiest, or greenest product they can buy

The UK Royal Mail Goes Green

February 6th, 2020 | by Andy Miles

In the UK we have many traditions going back for centuries. Just as we have a Royal Navy dating back to Tudor times, we also have the Royal Mail dating back to those times — 1512 to be precise. Though, it was indeed royal back then, in the sense of being for the exclusive use of Henry VIII and his agents for matters of state. Charles II, the Stuart king, established the General Post Office as a public service in

Renault Zoe & Tesla Model 3 Pull France To Record Heights — 2019 EV Sales Report

January 17th, 2020 | by Jose Pontes

The French plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) market registered a record 7,250 units in December, +28% year over year (YoY), a new all time record. That was thanks to leader Renault Zoe (2,097 units, a new year best), which seems to be past the worse of the production ramp up, and the Tesla Model 3, which moved 1,250 units, its best result ever in France. Additionally, plug-in hybrid (PHEV) sales more than doubled YoY, helping to set the record score

In response to a recent article of mine about electric vehicle models that could potentially hit 10,000+ sales a month, several readers suggested other models that I neglected (or simply didn't have much faith in). I thought these suggestions warranted a followup article
