New York City's MTA announced on December 15, 2019, that it has deployed the first phase of its new all-electric articulated bus fleet. The now historic 2020–2024 Capital Plan includes $1.1 billion to acquire 500 new electric buses to serve all 5 boroughs. This first phase includes 15. The first electric articulated bus took off on one of the city’s busiest crosstown routes – the 14th Street busway

New Flyer of America Inc. (“New Flyer”), a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc. (“NFI”), the largest bus manufacturer in North America, today announced that New Flyer Infrastructure SolutionsTM has successfully deployed two rapid, on-route chargers along New York City Transit Authority’s (“NYCT”) M42 route. This marks the completion of the first on-route charging solution in the United States that uses a globally recognized system to allow vehicle and charging equipment interoperability to common interfaces

I enjoyed a ride on the New Flyer XcelsiorÆ electric bus thanks to the Sierra Club a couple of years ago. The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority was collaborating with the Sierra Club on demos of future bus investments. The benefits of 100% electric transit are varied — they significantly limit toxic fumes and dirty particulates, the reduces headaches and asthma as a result, they're quieter and comfier thanks to the smooth electric powertrain, and they eliminate reliance on expensive gasoline and diesel fuel


Aspen To Spend $7.5 Million On Electric Buses & Charging Stations

Colorado is sometimes at the forefront of policies to protect clean air and the environment. As part of that and its effort to bring good jobs to the state, Colorado's one of the top states for solar energy. It also offers perhaps the best electric car incentives in the nation.
