In 2019, 4 countries had more than 10% plug-in vehicle market share. I selected those 4 countries and went back to the year that they had 2% or 3% plug-in vehicle market share to plot out how they grew from there to 11%+.
Iceland made it clear that winning the silver medal was a piece of cake for the island nation, as it logged a massive 25% EV market share in 2019.
According to The Iceland Review and an announcement from the Government of Iceland’s website, a grant of over ISK 30 million will help support the shift to electric cars and other electric vehicles in Iceland by increasing charging infrastructure. In fact, the new capacity will be for the charging of 110 electric vehicles at any given time.
