The main reason I love writing for CleanTechnica is that it is mission-driven, not profit-driven. Not to be overly critical, but other sites I see don’t often put a spotlight on everyday environmental activists.
Right now, we have the technologies to make big leaps in the fight for a future based on the principle of climate justice which puts the interest of its people first. What we need are decision makers who are willing to commit themselves to ambitious climate action and not postpone inconvenient processes to their successors.
Why did this year bring us climate hope? Advances in solutions and the truly unprecedented momentum the climate movement gained in just one year.
On June 12, 2020, thousands of climate activists will gather in Berlin’s Olympic Stadium to simultaneously submit a series of petitions to the Bundestag. If any gather more than 50,000 signatures, the legislature is obligated to consider it and vote on it. Representative democracy in action.
