BYD is amping up charging speeds on its forklifts this week with the addition of a second AC charging port. The second port allows BYD’s forklifts to charge with two adapters from a single wallbox at a maximum power of 400 amps at 240 volts, or 166 kW. That is faster than most DC fast chargers and ensures forklift operators will be able to maximize the use of their BYD forklifts.
BYD is moving into car country with its first order for fully electric transit buses in Germany. The orders for 22 of its 12-meter buses came from German public transit operators BOGESTRA and HCR and are aimed at improving ailing air quality in the greater Ruhr Metropolitan Region.
BYD has opened its first fully owned bus plant in Europe in Komarom, Hungary, with an annual production capacity of 400 buses.
BYD will be expanding its EV leasing deal with the London-based private-car service Thriev, according to recent reports.
