Save A Baby’s Life In Sierra Leone — For Real (#CleanTechnica Video)

There are a lot of things that are exciting and cool about various cleantech products, but when it comes down to it, many of us hardcore cleantech enthusiasts follow this stuff because it saves lives. Saving any life is great, but there’s something extra special about saving a baby’s life. On the flip side, there’s something extra harsh about seeing or even hearing about a baby’s death.

Solar Panel Prices Continue Falling Quicker Than Expected (#CleanTechnica Exclusive)

Solar power prices have been dropping faster than people expected, even faster than experts expected, and even faster than bullish experts expected.

I wrote about this general point a couple of years ago for an article for The Economist Group. The question I was supposed to explore was whether we needed solar technology breakthroughs in order for solar to take over the electricity generation market.

Is Coal A Patriotic Issue?

This is a voice from behind the Iron Curtain … again! It may sound like history is playing a joke on us here in Poland, but the truth is we are being pushed behind an invisible barrier separating us from a more sustainable West. There is no wall anymore (we’re lagging behind the USA a bit in that matter 😉 ) but a brief look at any interactive map of air quality/pollution will quickly reveal our place in Europe — 33 out of the 50 dirtiest cities in Europe are in Poland. And yet, if you ask a person in the street, you would be surprised how much people still value coal and revere miners. What a paradox!

Michael Liebreich & Nicki Shields Headline The Mobility Conference (& Me Too)

We are a few days away from 1st edition of The Mobility Conference, part of the World Future Energy Summit and Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. As you’ve probably seen by now, CleanTechnica is a co-organizer of the conference and I will be presenting about global electrification of transport as well as findings from our brand new EV charging report.

Another headliner just announced is the always superb Michael Liebreich, founder of New Energy Finance, which later became Bloomberg New Energy Finance. And the host of the event will be Nicki Shields, a Formula E and CNN International presenter.
