With Tesla, Elon Musk set out to accelerate the advent of sustainable energy. With solar, battery storage, and electric cars, Musk is looking (deeply) at practical clean energy solutions for the planet. He’s even opened the company’s patents to expedite EV adoption by others in the auto industry.
Tesla recently announced new two new board members. The company’s first board pick, Kathleen Wilson-Thompson, was prescient. Her human resources background (ranging from Walgreens to Kelloggs) brings Tesla some critical HR expertise right as the company readies itself for rapid growth. But investors also liked Tesla’s second new addition — a Silicon Valley icon who might hold some sway with Musk — Larry Ellison.
Elon Musk has accomplished some jaw-dropping feats at SpaceX and Tesla. Louis Sarkozy, son of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, asks (via Washington Examiner), “Should he be recognized as a capitalist example, champion of science, and hero of the environment? Yes. Is the media fawning over his countless moral deeds and wishing him success in his progressive endeavors? No. Rather, he is constantly berated, belittled, and criticized for trivial reasons.”
