The Netherlands had an amazing 30,860 plugin registrations in December, a 34% increase over the previous all-time record, set in the same month of last year, which itself was beating a 4 year old record.
The German automotive market has opened the floodgates wide open for plugin vehicles. November was yet another record month, and this time with a 24% increase over the previous record, set in October.
November saw the Dutch plugin vehicle (PEV) market stay at full charge, with 9,910 registrations representing the market’s best score ever if we exclude December months, which are prone to incentive-derived year-end rushes.
The German plugin vehicle market had yet another record month in October, with a little of over 48,000 units registered, and this time it was full electrics (BEVs) driving the market forward, up 365%(!) to 23,158 units. They helped plugin vehicles as a whole jump an amazing 303% last month, with the plugin vehicle share reaching a record 18% (8.4% BEV).
October saw the Dutch electric vehicle (EV) market return to the fast lane, jumping 228% year over year (YoY) to 9,116 units, the market’s best score ever if we exclude December months (which are prone to incentive-derived year-end rushes).
The German plugin vehicle market had another record month in September, with a little over 41,000 registrations. Plugin hybrid (PHEV) registrations continued going through the roof, up 463% to 20,127 units, helping plugins as a whole jump an amazing 437% last month.
The Super-September edition of the Dutch EV market actually saw it return to red (-3% year over year/YoY), but with the crash of the overall market, plugin vehicle (PEV) market share actually jumped to 27%, 6 percentage points ahead of September 2019.
After a record month in August, the German plugin vehicle market had its second best month ever in August, with a little over 33,000 units registered, an amazing performance considering August is usually one of the slowest selling months of they year.
The Dutch automotive market is back in red, -22% year over year (YoY), but the plugin vehicle category continues in the fast lane (up 75% last month), thanks to 5,680 units registered in August.
