Fastned’s Q3 quarterly update shows the growth we have become accustomed to from this company. It is usual exponential growth, albeit slowing from 2018. The numbers are impressive, but they appear more impressive when looking at this graph:
The Netherlands has long been one of the top plug-in vehicle markets. Norway far and away wins the prize for highest market share (Tesla alone accounted for 31% of new vehicle sales in March and all fully electric vehicles combined accounted for 58.5% of sales), but the Netherlands is perhaps the country most closely following Norway’s lead.

European DC fast charging company Fastned yesterday released images from the Netherlands of the newly arrived Tesla Model 3 Long Range charging at 126 kW on its CCS chargers. This is just a teaser of even higher charging speeds to come.
The electric vehicle (EV) industry was booming in 2018. It was the most booming year of a booming decade for EVs. Below is a long, long rundown of notables changes in the industry in 2018.
Recent and upcoming EVs are designed for DC fast charging speeds of 100 kW and more, and are overwhelmingly favouring CCS as the standard charging architecture. Next-generation charging networks in Europe and the US are also favouring CCS. Despite its early lead, CHAdeMO now looks to be falling behind.

Whilst the Tesla Model 3 Standard Range is arguably the most keenly anticipated of the bunch, all of these EVs are great cars, much better than any fossil fuel vehicle (FFV) equivalent.
