Today, we have some interesting information to share with you regarding Tesla analyst price targets for TSLA. A lot of attention has been put on Adam Jonas’s recent update to Morgan Stanley’s Tesla [TSLA] price target, which tanked the stock. The trading week of May 20–24 was not kind to Tesla. The stock dropped more than 20 points, which translates into a loss of some $3.5 billion in market capitalization. The primary reason for the plunge was investor reactions to a full-court press of negative comments from analysts and the media.
Morgan Stanley put out an updated forecast on Tesla stock [TSLA] in the past week. It included close to nothing of any use. Many in the media must have recognized it was useless, so they picked one part of it to focus on for their own fun and games. They picked the lower end of the financial institution’s Tesla stock price forecast and stuck with that.
Analysts seem to talk about Tesla’s “cash problem” often, especially leading up to the $920 million bond repayment and after the Model Y event. Tesla has access to so many sources of liquidity that the “cash problem” is a mythical problem.

One of the most respected Apple analysts, Gene Munster, now covers Tesla [NASDAQ: TSLA]. In a fascinating Bloomberg report, Munster explained, “In this race to disrupt the world with both electric cars and autonomy as well as space, you don’t really work for Tesla or SpaceX. You just work for Elon Musk. You have the most wicked-smart people who can feed off of each other all working for Elon, and he can call on them to help crack various problems.”
Two Morgan Stanley analysts contend the Tesla Semi will be the biggest catalyst for change in the trucking industry since air brakes and will add about 8% to the value of the company’s stock.
