While the IEA got a lot of coverage for its World Energy Outlook 2018 (WEO 18), there might be a little snippet that got way underappreciated.

There is a very short window of time to get out of pure-play oil & gas company investments without substantial losses. It is imperative to sell them now. It is already too late to get out of pure-play coal company investments without substantial losses. But they will lose even more money going forward.

Two new reports published within days of one another have outlined the difficulties inherent in continuing anything close to “business-as-usual” for oil and gas companies around the world, and the increasing pressure to begin transitioning to low-carbon operations.
The popularity of electric vehicles is becoming very apparent in so many ways. In many places, the price of used electric vehicles is actually increasing, because demand is so high. In the case of the Tesla Model 3, some people are paying more for a recent used car, than the price of a new one. This is because they are not prepared to wait in the reservation list to get one. In my own experience, I see more and more electric vehicles on the road. Where I used to have the charging stations to myself when on my travels, now I see more and more electric vehicle drivers charging alongside me. I think I will soon be joining a queue, as there will be more drivers needing a charge than available chargers.
Add the Keystone XL tar sands oil pipeline to the growing pile of campaign promises that President* Trump has yet to keep.

Numerous prominent Republicans and former Republicans, some of whom were in top positions in Republican White Houses and Congress, have urged voters to vote for Democrats in this election (often for a whole set of reasons related to democracy and protecting the core essence of the United States that I’m not even going to discuss in this article).
A Republican Senator from Wyoming thinks that thinks that helping to clean up our air, lead in an extremely fast growing industry, and stop global scorching is not a good idea. U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) has proposed killing off the federal zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) tax credit via a bill he has introduced, the Fairness for Every Driver Act.
If you’ve been on the internet lately, you’ve probably noticed a few trolls. In fact, if you’ve spent much time in discussions about Tesla, politics, or climate change, you’ve seen swarms of trolls roll in. Sometimes you may have thought, “Hey, these peeps be trolls?” And sometimes you may have simply assumed they were normal human beings honestly expressing their point of view.
