US Southeast’s Solar Industry Doing Better Than Most, But Still Losing Many Jobs

Compared to most states, the large installations of North Carolina's solar industry have been less influenced by the economic slide from the pandemic. The question is, will those numbers hold over the next few months? The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) recently released state data on solar job losses. Better news than others only slightly abates the concerns, as North Carolina is still showing 19% fewer solar workers than expected in June according to the data


Abu Dhabi To Have Cheapest Solar Power Ever — 1.35 Cents Per Kilowatt-Hour

The UAE's other major city, Dubai, set the low-solar-PV-price record in January 2015 at what was then a shocking 5.98¢/kWh, then did so again in 2016 at 2.99¢/kWh. Dubai also set a low-price record for concentrated solar power (CSP), at just 7.3¢/kWh. The new low-PV bid chosen by Abu Dhabi's public electric utility will bring down the cost of solar power to just 1.35¢/kWh


IKEA Put 1 Million Solar Panels On 370 Stores In 2019

In 2019, IKEA invested $2.8 billion in renewable energy infrastructure. IKEA put 1 million solar panels on 370 0f its stores and warehouses, and also built 535 wind turbines and 2 solar parks. The goal is to be climate positive by 2030. IKEA shows that we have the solutions. So, what's stopping us from implementing them
