I rely on ChargePoint for the majority of my daily charging as an urban motorist. It’s always dependable. Actually, the day after Hurricane Helene hit Asheville, it performed well for me! No surprise that AAA clubs and their service providers can now access ChargePoint chargers and services at preferred pricing thanks to an agreement with ChargePoint (NYSE: CHPT), which has become a preferred supplier. Together, the businesses hope to increase the availability of EV charging infrastructure at a reasonable cost.
“ChargePoint is committed to supporting AAA members who are in need of EV charging for their business,” said David Vice, Chief Revenue Officer at ChargePoint. “To support them, we now offer solutions AAA members can depend on for reliable EV charging at preferred pricing.”
The savings will be accessible to over 12,000 service providers representing 27 AAA clubs in the United States and CAA clubs in Canada. These firms include towing companies, vehicle repair shops, and other small businesses that require EV charging. The offerings include support packages for existing ChargePoint charging stations owned by clubs and service providers. This agreement will allow AAA clubs and their affiliates to continue expanding the availability of dependable, efficient, and economical EV charging options.
“AAA’s first priority is serving our members,” said Bob Huffman, Director of Roadside Programs & Benefits for AAA. “By working with ChargePoint, we are able to provide resources and services to our clubs and service providers, so they are able to best assist our members when they need us most.”

A previous AAA article addressed mobile charging and pointed to the US Department of Energy’s Electric Vehicle Charging Station Locator. I always try to educate the curious about the many charging options, pulling out my apps for endless options to recommend. PlugShare, EVgo, Electrify America, ChargePoint — the list goes on and on, growing every day.
However, for even more safety and security, prompt mobile charging is ideal if you are stranded (rather than a tow).
