Earlier this week, CleanTechnica’s webinar on the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program premiered  on our YouTube channel. We sat down with two pro e-mobility experts to pick their brains about the NEVI program. Both guests hail from e-mobility leader and EV charging OEM, ABB E-Mobility. Tegan Molloy (Industry Segment Leader, Charge Point Operators) and Asaf Nagler (VP of External Affairs) sat down for a chat with Zachary Shahan, CleanTechnica’s CEO and fearless leader.

The discussion covered the programming landscape for funding and implementation, as well as how emerging charge point operators (owner-operators) might be thinking about design and strategy as they prime their NEVI RFP bids.

Check out the video of the webinar here (also embedded below) and find out how ABB E-Mobility is prepared to meet the product requirements and enable partners to meet 97% uptime.

We got some great answers from Molloy and Nagler during our chat. When asked about some of the key goals of NEVI, Nagler told us “the NEVI program sets up the major characteristics of what a NEVI charging station should look like.” He said NEVI will “bring uniformity to the charging experience…We welcome the opportunity to have more consistent, uniform, high quality charging experiences for drivers.”

We asked Molloy why people should care about the NEVI program. She responded, “there are so many different use cases for public charging.” Aside from long-haul charging needs for road trips, “there are people who are driving to get to work…or driving to earn a living,” She continued, “when we talk about reliability, it has a lot of implications for an impact to a person in their day to day life.” She added, “we’re revolutionizing the transportation and mobility experience. We still have a lot of work to do. This program is helping us get there.” The goal is “more reliable and more ubiquitous” charging options, says Molloy.

We learned so much in this webinar! If you want to learn more, see best practices and resources below to help inform decision-making for your NEVI Program strategy:
