Want to zip down the highway in a brand new Tesla? Want to help spread the word about solar and the transition to clean energy at the same time? It’s time to go without the gas and enter the Illinois Solar Education Association’s Tesla Model Y Raffle!

ISEA has held a Tesla raffle for the past nine years in order to raise funds to continue their important work. The Tesla Raffle supports ISEA’s mission, which is to educate people about the many benefits of solar energy, including:

  • It is renewable
  • It has no emissions that pollute the environment
  • It costs less
  • It benefits local communities
  • It is ideal for community microgrids

Many people have misconceptions about solar energy — they don’t know how they can benefit from it, or how to get started. It’s ISEA’s job to dispel solar myths, answer questions, and provide opportunities for folks to learn more. All those raffles over the years have helped ISEA spread the good news about solar to thousands of people throughout Illinois.

Right now, you have a golden opportunity to help ISEA continue its important work, and you could win a brand new Tesla Model Y for doing so! The grand prize drawing will be held on April 21, 2023. Tickets are $100 each and you can increase your chances of winning by getting 4 tickets for $300. Only 2,500 tickets will be sold between now and April 19, so act now to reserve yours.

You can buy as many tickets as you want — there is no limit on the number of tickets anyone can buy. You don’t need to be present at the drawing to win. If fewer than 2,300 tickets are sold, the drawing converts to a 50/50 drawing. Tickets are only valid if sold in the continental US. Click here to read full raffle rules.

The odds of winning Powerball are less than one in a million. The odds of winning your new Tesla Model Y in the ISEA raffle are one in 2,500. That means you are much more likely to win a Tesla and you get to support the valuable work of ISEA at the same time!

The ISEA mission is especially important now, as two new acts have been passed that will accelerate Illinois’ transition to clean energy. First, the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA) will help Illinois to lead the nation toward a clean energy future, protect public health from pollution, and provide a just transition to renewables.

Second, the recent passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), the single largest investment in climate change action ever, which will invest in domestic energy production and manufacturing and reduce carbon emissions by roughly 40% by 2030.

These new incentives are available to homeowners, community solar developers, and grid operators to install solar systems that will bring clean, non-polluting electricity from the sun to the people of Illinois, and yet many haven’t heard of them or don’t understand how they work. That’s why it’s more important than ever for ISEA to get the word out and to educate people about how affordable solar power is and how it can benefit them.

If you don’t know about the Model Y, it is the best selling Tesla model in the United States, Europe, and China. It is roomy and comfortable. It’s also a gorgeous car with timeless lines that will look modern in the years to come. It has 330 miles of range according to the EPA and its dual-motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain can propel it to 60 mph in an exhilarating 3.5 seconds!

The Tesla Model Y has won the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick+ Award. It also achieved a 5-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in every category and subcategory. Not only is the Model Y sleek and stylish, not only does it have amazing performance; it also is one of the safest cars you and your family can drive.

Important climate work is possible with support from dedicated community members like you, and that’s why ISEA has once again launched its annual Tesla Raffle. Electric vehicles, as well as solar energy, are crucial parts of the path towards a more sustainable world. All proceeds from the Tesla Model Y raffle go directly to benefit ISEA’s mission of solar education and advocacy.

By purchasing an ISEA Tesla Model Y raffle ticket, you not only have the chance to win a brand new, high tech Tesla, but you are also investing in a sustainable and healthy future for generations to come. As a reminder, you can buy one or more raffle tickets at the Go Rally site. Good luck!

ISEA ( is a non-profit organization that promotes solar and other forms of renewable energy through education. It’s a state resource for renewable energy-related policy developments, educational classes, events, and access to local renewable energy businesses.
