Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk was gifted an NFT by the Ukrainian Government for his aid to the nation during the crisis started by Russia. Elon Musk has gone above and beyond in providing aid. This invasion has had devastating effects on the people of Ukraine, and as the war continues, countless citizens are dying. Those who aren’t have been brutally terrorized, raped, and worse.
Tesmanian’s Eva Fox, who is Ukrainian and also affected by the war, reported the following touching story. Priceless contributions from around the world are what’s helping Ukraine survive. The gifts of Starlink terminals and internet from Musk and SpaceX have become what NBC News has aptly called a lifeline for many areas of Ukraine. The country now has over 10,000 dish antennas in service.
As a thanks, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov shared a non-fungible token (NFT) of a portrait of Elon Musk, whom he called a great supporter of Ukraine. The NFT was made by the team and presented to Elon Musk as a gift to keep the memory of Ukraine forever.
Eva pointed out that under Elon Musk’s leadership both Tesla and SpaceX have stepped up to help by providing solar, Powerwalls, and Starlink satellite internet to help keep Ukraine online without the need for the electric grid. Tesla also opened up free access to its Superchargers for Ukrainian Tesla owners fleeing. And there are more good things Tesla has done that have not been widely reported on. Eva wrote:
“In addition to officially purchased cars, even those that are on the black list of the company have gained access. This move was made so that Ukrainians, who often buy Tesla cars that have been in an accident, can safely get out of Ukraine to a safer place.”
Reuters reported on Monday that the United Nations human rights office said that the death toll of civilians killed in Ukraine has exceeded 3,000 people since Russia began its invasion in February. The exact current number according to the estimate is 3,153, and represented an increase of 254 since Friday. Though, in actuality, we really don’t know how many have died.
