Why Wait To Buy A Tesla When You Could Win One?

It’s no question that the future of driving is electric. Be a part of it by entering our 6th Annual Climate XChange Tesla Raffle!

This year’s raffle is our largest yet, with a grand prize totaling $227,000+, including all taxes paid for, of course. We’re also offering four cash prizes, giving you four additional chances to win! Each ticket purchased funds our nonprofit’s work of enabling state-level policy to take on the climate crisis. Without ticket buyers like yourself, we wouldn’t be where we are today — and we definitely can’t get to where we’re going without your continued support.

Traditional car manufacturers are now finally trying to catch up to industry disruptors like Tesla by creating new lines of all-electric vehicles or transitioning their classics from the pump to a plug. In states like California and Massachusetts, these manufacturers must legally make the transition by 2035. With transportation being one of the major sources of climate-warming pollution, we’re supporting the EV revolution by adding one lucky new Tesla owner to the road each year. With our 6th raffle, our winner will have the chance to drive away in Tesla’s newest and highest-performing car yet, the Model S Plaid.

Total Prize Pool Value: $227,615

GRAND PRIZE:

Your choice of: Tesla Model S Plaid all-electric luxury performance sedan or Model X SUV or Model 3 Midsize Sedan or Model Y Midsize SUV with any options

Max car total (which is for Model S Plaid) = $150,190

Max Tax Payments = $77,425

Total Value = $227,615

Tax Breakdown for Max Payments:

MA Sales Tax: $9,687

Registration Fee: $300

Federal Prize Taxes: $56,900

MA Prize Taxes: $10,839

2nd Prize $10,000

3rd Prize $5,000

4th Prize $3,000

5th Prize $2,000

This year, we’ve seen the climate crisis lay bare the impacts of a warming world, reinforcing the need to take action. Wildfires in the West have become the norm as the ever-increasing infernos ravage states year after year. In the East, we’re experiencing another extremely active hurricane season that brings destruction to coastal communities, and even major cities. The climate crisis is not some faraway threat, it’s here now. That’s why fighting for decarbonization has never been more critical, and your ticket gives you a piece of the action.

Climate XChange is already doing the work to help guide states towards meaningful climate action. Our researchers are delving into how states’ economic recovery initiatives can prioritize public infrastructure and community investments that reduce planet-warming emissions and improve communities’ quality of life. Our State Climate Policy Network (SCPN) convenes over 16,000 activists, legislators, business leaders, scientists, academics, and the like to drive innovation and cross-collaboration to campaigns pushing for climate policies across U.S. states. We also have organizers on the ground in both Massachusetts and Maryland who are leading diverse coalitions in support of policies that will move the needle on climate change.

Your ticket directly supports and helps us get the message out about this important work. It gives us the tools that we need to be successful in achieving our mission, but we need your help now to sustain this work and support widespread climate action — and we give you the chance to win something in return, too! This is our sixth time raffling off a Tesla, and we love that it both helps support our mission and puts another electric vehicle driver on the road.

So, why wait to buy into the EV revolution when you can win it? Get your tickets now.

Former Tesla Battery Expert Leading Lyten Into New Lithium-Sulfur Battery Era — Podcast:

I don't like paywalls. You don't like paywalls. Who likes paywalls? Here at CleanTechnica, we implemented a limited paywall for a while, but it always felt wrong — and it was always tough to decide what we should put behind there. In theory, your most exclusive and best content goes behind a paywall. But then fewer people read it! We just don't like paywalls, and so we've decided to ditch ours. Unfortunately, the media business is still a tough, cut-throat business with tiny margins. It's a never-ending Olympic challenge to stay above water or even perhaps — gasp — grow. So ...
