Breaking! European Tesla Model 3 Customers Receive Delivery Dates, + New EV Subsidies In Nordrhine Westfalia, Germany

Word on the street today is that Tesla Model 3 buyers in Europe are receiving delivery date estimates.

Tesla Model 3 reservation holders in Europe have waited a long, long time for their cars, patiently (and sometimes not so patiently) sitting on their couches and reading story after story about the Model 3 while their American friends (and people simply walking into Tesla stores) were able to order and receive their cars.

Well, it’s nearly time for them to stop counting the months since they put down reservations. Word on the street today is that Tesla Model 3 buyers in Europe are receiving delivery date estimates. “Just received a text from Tesla,” just wrote on the Tesla Motors Club forum. “My Tesla Model 3 Performance will be ready to collect in Madrid on the week commencing 11th Feb. 3 weeks ahead of schedule!”

If you have a Model 3 on the way or you’re on the verge of ordering one, feel free to use my referral code — http://ts.la/tomasz7234 — to get 6 months of free Supercharging (or 9 months of free Supercharging if you haven’t test driven the car)*.

Just be sure to use the code and order a car before February 1 to get that bonus, since the referral program ends on February 1.

If you’re in Europe and have already placed your order without a referral code, you can send an email to buildmy3EMEA@tesla.com with the word “Referral” in the subject line to get one added. Just put your name, contact information, reservation number (starts with RN), and the referral code you’d like to use in the body of the email. (Thanks to Paul for discovering that.)

Aside from the good news from Tesla, the German state of Nordrhine Westfalia, which is the most populated state in the country, today approved new electric vehicle subsidies for companies. (What great timing!) Electric car buyers can now get €4,000 rebates for fully electric cars they buy, and electric truck buyers can get €8,000. (Note: This paragraph has been updated to correct initial errors in who and what the subsidies are for.)

Sounds like a good time to be excited about the electric vehicle revolution in Europe! Drop us a note if you have more positive news to share.

*Note: I jointly own a Model S with a couple of other guys, but we only get one referral code. That’s why the name on the referral code page is Tomasz rather than Zachary. Tomasz is pictured below with our car. 😀

I don't like paywalls. You don't like paywalls. Who likes paywalls? Here at CleanTechnica, we implemented a limited paywall for a while, but it always felt wrong — and it was always tough to decide what we should put behind there. In theory, your most exclusive and best content goes behind a paywall. But then fewer people read it! We just don't like paywalls, and so we've decided to ditch ours. Unfortunately, the media business is still a tough, cut-throat business with tiny margins. It's a never-ending Olympic challenge to stay above water or even perhaps — gasp — grow. So ...
