Shortly after announcing a new residential energy storage product, Sonnen did it again with a commercial one — the sonnenBatterie pro. The system ranges from 18 kW / 24 kWh up to 90 kW / 240 kWh. It employs Ideal Power’s 30 kW Power Conversion System. An Ideal Power inverter is included, as is energy management. Hotels, restaurants, and office buildings are referenced on the Sonnen site as suitable places where the system would be effective. Peak shaving and integration with solar power are two of the main benefits.
“Businesses are a key market for sonnen given the increasing amount of commercial solar installations and the growing cost of electricity. With the pro we are providing them with a reliable tool for understanding and better managing their facility’s energy usage both today and in the future,” said Boris von Bormann, CEO of Sonnen.
For the power unit, dimensions in inches are W/H/D: 28/55/25 and it weighs about 370 pounds. The 24 kWh battery weighs about 940 pounds and has these dimensions in inches: W/H/D: 20/55/25
It is expected the product will start shipping at the end of Q4 2016.

In theory, your most exclusive and best content goes behind a paywall. But then fewer people read it! We just don't like paywalls, and so we've decided to ditch ours. Unfortunately, the media business is still a tough, cut-throat business with tiny margins. It's a never-ending Olympic challenge to stay above water or even perhaps — gasp — grow. So ...
