Masdar City Tour, In Depth (CleanTechnica Exclusive Videos)

February 15th, 2014 by

I think the piece I wrote up last year on Masdar City* is still completely relevant. So, for an overview of the city from this city planner (by training) and cleantech expert (by career), have a look at that article. This year, I was intent on getting a lot more video coverage of the city. A couple of large new buildings have also opened up since then, including the Siemens Middle East headquarters (which I already wrote about and shared videos about twice). In the two videos below (each ~15 minutes), you can get a nice, fairly thorough, inside look at Masdar City (including a little bit about these new buildings) — all from the comfort of your own couch. 😀

There’s a lot of super interesting stuff in these videos, but they are especially geared toward architect and city planning lovers. Enjoy, and let me know if you have any questions you want passed on to Chris Chi Lon Wan, Masdar City Design Manager (the British guy in the videos), or Steve Severance, Head of Program Management and Investments at Masdar City (the American guy).

*Full disclosure: Masdar covered my trip to Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, which is where I filmed the above videos.

About the Author

is tryin' to help society help itself one word at a time. He spends most of his time here on CleanTechnica as its director, chief editor, and CEO. Zach is recognized globally as an electric vehicle, solar energy, and energy storage expert. He has presented about cleantech at conferences in India, the UAE, Ukraine, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, the USA, Canada, and Curaçao. Zach has long-term investments in Tesla [TSLA] — after years of covering solar and EVs, he simply has a lot of faith in this company and feels like it is a good cleantech company to invest in. But he does not offer (explicitly or implicitly) investment advice of any sort on Tesla or any other company.
