CleanTechnica’s Kyle Field is in Hawthorne for the Tesla Semi Truck unveiling. He’s getting or got or will get a pre-event briefing, but he’s prohibited from sharing any details or even pictures from the site before Elon takes the stage and the event begins. I’m quite tempted to ask for some info off the record, but I’ll just be patient and wait in line like the rest of you … sort of.
It shouldn’t surprise you that seeing a nice pic of the new Tesla Supercharger station in Kettleman City, California, triggered another article. This station is really a prime example that others should learn from, and it’s not just about one or two things — I counted 10.
Tesla emailed approximately an hour ago that it just opened North America’s largest Supercharger station … er, two of them.
What’s more interesting to me is that they represent a transition into a different charging dimension. Kyle Field and I have been talking about this for a couple of years — the future of public charging needs to include more amenities, more relaxation opportunities, more commercial attractions, and just overall more ::stuff:: (forgive the consumerist language and implications here).

Jakub Stechły and I are a little more than halfway (~9 hours) through our drive from Wrocław, Poland, to Paris, France. We’ve taken a few photos of our erratic driving patterns and average Wh/km. More or less, we’ve driven with the flow of traffic, but have at times driven at extreme speeds (more on that at the bottom) and at other times slowed down a bit to not cut our battery range too close.
