Tesla has lowered the price of the Model Y and the single-motor Model 3 in advance of announcing its 1st quarter financials.

Tesla had made several pricing changes to the Model 3 since the Model Y was unveiled, and the company hadn’t updated the pricing and configurations in the Model Y Design Studio to reflect that until yesterday.
It seems to be a monthly occurrence now — Tesla changes priced, people freak out, some media outlets write about it, and then everyone assumes nothing will change for years (or something like that).
Tesla just rolled out a series of updates to the Model 3 configurator that lowered prices across the board in many countries. The new change was accompanied by a flip flop on the base color of all of Tesla’s vehicles — from black to “pearl white.” It is now an extra $750 to add black but no extra charge to choose white. Grey (“midnight silver metallic”) and blue (“deep blue metallic”) cost $1000 and red costs $2000.
