Steve Bannon

If White House Destroys The State (As Desired), What Does That Mean For Solar, Wind,…

As noted in an article earlier today, Steve Bannon reportedly said in 2013: “Lenin wanted to destroy the state, and that’s my goal too. I want to bring everything crashing down, and destroy all of today’s establishment.” He apparently described himself as a Leninist to Ronald Radosh, an adjunct fellow at the Hudson Institute. There seems to be a lot of evidence Bannon was telling the truth in that case.

Republicans — Moderates? Humanity-Crushing Extremists? Stealth Societal Saviors?

The most simplistic — but I think quite valid — way I can find of describing the differences is that there are 1) moderate “small government” Republicans, 2) extremist anti-government Republicans with shallow ideological perspective but who actually like social support systems and basic societal protection (just don’t realize this until it touches their lives), and 3) extremely extremist Republicans who think the whole system needs to be destroyed to some degree or another.

Moreover, the right-wing outlet has been accused by some as being a hate site. Now that Bannon has been announced as Trump’s chief strategist, there are fears this U.S. conservative news venue will be little more than a mouthpiece for Trump’s policies, including those detrimental to climate change actions within the Paris Agreement.

Screw Science, Eh? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sometimes, my society concerns me a bit. I mean, I love Kevin Hart, Will Ferrell, the Internet, smartphones, computers, Apple products, and Tesla as much as the next guy, but let’s be frank: the US is known quite a bit for stupid things Americans say and do. (Despite many wonderful … [continued]
