Lack Of Access To Fresh Water Is Increasing. Can Hydropanels Help?
Billions of people lack access to fresh water, but there are solutions available.

Big problems need big solutions. But big and effective solutions might not be that complicated. I had heard about devices that extract water from thin airm but I wondered if any industrial scale solutions were out there.
A team of researchers at MIT has developed a way to use atom-thin sheets of graphene for water filtration, which could lead to an inexpensive and energy-efficient way to desalinate seawater. Though we can’t exactly drink our way our way out of the effects of rising sea levels, drawing more … [continued]
Now Cui and his team of researchers have calculated a way to alternate the flow of river water and salty seawater through a battery to produce electricity that can be used for charging purposes. It might also be possible this same process can be reversed to remove salt from seawater to produce drinking water.
