The U.S. Energy Information Administration recently published a special short profile on New York’s renewable energy leadership and split. What I found particularly interesting in the piece, though, was the variation in renewable energy splits in the different top states.
PGE and NextEra Energy are building a new renewable energy facility in eastern Oregon that will combine wind, solar, and battery storage for the first time in the state. When completed, it will boost PGE’s renewable energy portfolio to more than 50%.
Portland’s utility, the Portland General Electric Company, is requesting proposals for the development of 100 MW of renewable energy. It will consider projects from hydroelectric, solar, biogas, geothermal, and wind energy. Smaller projects must be at least 10 MW.
