Tesla and the municipality of Chongqing are reportedly in talks to accelerate some projects. This little nugget of gold was shared by Tesla Owners of Vancouver and confirmed by Reuters, which reported that Tesla met with officials from a district in Chongqing, which is located in southwestern China. The topic was “accelerating projects,” according to the Liangjang New Area.

BYD has officially broken ground at its new Chongqing battery plant in a move that diversifies its battery cell production capacity beyond its older factories in Eastern China. In a ceremony on Friday, BYD officially started work on the new factory that was announced last year.

BYD and Changan Automobile have spun up a joint venture to manufacture and sell electric vehicle batteries. This joint venture is based in the sprawling metropolis of Chongqing, China.
On the 20th of November, it was announced that China’s green new energy license plates would be rolled out across the nation in three stages. Previously, the green licence plates had been implemented in Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuxi, Jinan, and Shenzhen on the 1st of December of 2016.
