One of the hardest things about getting more people to adopt electric vehicles is the learning curve. For those of us who own EVs and have for a while, it's easy to take for granted what it takes to operate one. You have to know how to charge, where to charge, and you have to know that charging at home is even possible... Read More →

We've published numerous analyses of our own on the total cost of ownership of the Tesla Model 3 and Volkswagen ID.3 compared to top gasoline competitors. However, if you don't trust research from CleanTechnica, perhaps you'll find the work of a major international financial firm more palatable. A recently published report from Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) that was passed along to CleanTechnica dove into this topic for the ... Read More →

Several months ago, Hamid Shojaee tweeted out a superb chart highlighting both Tesla's annual revenue growth and summaries of the consistently wrong claims of Tesla critics and skeptics. It was so brilliant that I wanted to write an article about it, but I never got to that. As it turns out, though, the chart is still relevant today... Read More →

Tracking monthly US auto sales by company or brand is one of the oddest-feeling things I've done in my decade or so covering cleantech. Perhaps that's because the focus is on tracking non-clean tech. The fact is, though, it shocks me every month to see how many people still buy gasoline cars. Gasoline cars are far worse than electric cars currently on the market for the same cost (or even less). Nonetheless, there are so many people buying clunky, noisy, slow, high-maintenance, low-tech, high-depreciation gasoline vehicles every single day. Objectively, it doesn't make sense... Read More →
