US Solar Industry Could Be Devastated By Today’s Tariffs Ruling — May Lead To Crushing…

Are solar cells too cheap? That’s what the US International Trade Commission effectively ruled Friday, granting bankrupt US manufacturers SolarWorld and Suniva’s petition for relief from cheaper imported solar panels. Next, they’ll deliberate a remedy, which would likely mean job-crushing tariffs. The solar industry says that with the price of panels jacked up, hundreds of projects would be canceled and tens of thousands of jobs would be lost.

Trump Admin Won’t Eliminate National Monuments (But Bears Ears Still On The Chopping Block)

We don’t have an official release yet, but word is that NONE of the 27 national monuments under review by the Trump administration will be completely eliminated. But that was always an extreme option, probably tossed out there as a smokescreen to let Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke give away millions of acres to his millionaire oil and mining buddies, then say “But look, this is just a minor change compared to the disaster we COULD have perpetrated.”

Trump has big plans to help Big Oil in Alaska — including Arctic offshore drilling, the Salmon-destroying Pebble Mine, and of course, opening up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for more energy exploration (a wet dream of the GOP for almost 50 years). But now all that could be at risk, since he’s annoyed at Alaskan GOP Senator Lisa Murkowski for voting against Trumpcare.
